Babineau: What will Woods do Sunday?
We’ve seen this before. Tiger Woods leads a major entering Sunday. He leads by two at the PGA Championship, and is an unreal 14-for-14 with a 54-hole lead in majors. But as Jeff Babineau writes, a Woods win is not a sure thing.

Just call him Turnberry Tom
The surprise of the day wasn’t Tom Watson making an appearance atop the leaderboard. As Jeff Babineau writes, the bigger jolt was that the 59-year-old Watson believes his age is a true advantage to winning this week.

Just how wild was the wind at Birkdale?
The wind shifted players into full survival mode Saturday at Birkdale. Camilo Villegas hit two shots on No.1 that never got higher than 12 feet in the air. Greg Norman hit 5-iron from 120 yards into the fifth. And Rocco Mediate had 148 yards into the 11th and asked for a 3-wood.

Now playing: Birkdale and the beast
Wind. Rain. Cold. It was a true survival test Thursday at the British Open. And as Jeff Babineau writes, Day 1 at Birkdale was less about flighting the perfect 2-iron, and more about staying mentally tough in the brutal conditions. Case in point: Padraig Harrington (pictured).

No driver, just drama from Lefty
Typically aggressive Phil Mickelson left his driver at home for the opening round of the U.S. Open, opting instead to go with 3-wood at monsterous Torrey Pines, the longest course in U.S. Open history. Just another day in the life of Phil the Thrill, writes Jeff Babineau.

Players go South on severe Saturday
On Saturday at the U.S. Open, players mostly were headed in one direction on Torrey Pines’ South Course. That, of course, would be, well, south. Jeff Babineau explains how things went especially sour for Phil Mickelson.
